A Fresh Look at the Definition and Meaning of “Legacy”
By Andrea Young on August 7, 2020
Thank you for joining us for our November 10th Empower Women event, A Fresh Look at the Definition and Meaning of “Legacy”, hosted by Susan Turnbull. Susan led a lively and engaging program that broadened our imagination on what it means to create a legacy. Through active exercises and absorbing storytelling, we were left with a renewed sense of your potential for positive influence in the lives of the people and institutions most important to you. “Wealth” gets a new definition, too, as you consider how to pass down the wealth of your values and blessings through the instrument of an ethical will, or personal legacy letter.
Susan Turnbull is the founder and Principal of Personal Legacy Advisors. A professional writer and speaker, her presentations, tools and services are known for a uniquely personal and practical focus on the qualitative aspects of estate, financial and philanthropic planning. She the author of The Wealth of Your Life: A Step-by-Step Guide for Creating Your Ethical Will, co-author of Across Generations: A Five Step Guide for Creating an Expression of Donor Intent, creator of Life Legacy Cards and the Life Legacy Conversations Tool, all designed for those who agree that wealth transferred to future generations has both tangible and intangible dimensions.
Susan’s work has been featured in many national publications, including the New York Times and USA Today. She and her husband live in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, and when she is not working, you might find her singing in a local chorus, serving as a volunteer mentor at a family support center or delighting in the frequent visits of six young grandchildren.
